You'll have to forgive me. I just watched bones on tv. And Oh, My, God! I adore this show.
My strongest belief is that Temperance Bones and Seely Booth are ment to be together!!! it is the fifth season and the writers have finally let them (kinda) be together!!! And I don't think it is possible for me to be more excited! :P
So, most people all know about bones. But I'll jump in from where I entered. I fell inlove with those two falling in love, actually before I saw the show. I normally have to watch a few episodes before I start loving the characters so much that I become obsessed over the show.
Oh, I should probably explain my obsessions. They're not ridiculous (I think?) so I personally think the term "obsession" is a bit of an exaggeration. lol. But since I lack the appropriate terminology, obsession it is! Basically I become in love with the show, and spend most my time wishing that it was on all day on tv. But unfortunately, it is only one session per week, if I'm lucky.
With bones, I first heard of it one evening. on youtube. Hours later, I had clicked every possible link of fan videos, and was no doubt in love with the two! I don't think I have ever been so obsessed with something without ever actually seeing one of the episodes. Which, on one note, is a personal achievement. On the other (and yes, I can admit this) it is a weee bit sad.
Now, I have absolutely no interest in the actual episodes. The goryness of most of the program is way above my threshold, but I love those too so much that I put up with it. However, if they were to just cut out the actual cases from the storyline, I think it would suit me Waaaaayyyy better. Must be why the 'The critic in the Cabernet' is my personal favourite episode!!! With little story with the case, the main focus was on booth and bones!
Okay, so why I am so crazy of this show at the moment??? Well, I have been very (VERY) patient and waited until the new season came onto the tv. Its been fantastic actually! I now like Sunday nights, which use to be (in my personal opinion) the second worst time of the week. It was shortly behind Monday morning, on the ranking scale. Now Sundays are brilliant! But, moving on. Where was i? Oh yeah. Why am I crazy about this at the moment? Must be cause of HOW AWESOME THIS SEASON IS!!!
Okay, so my professional opinion is that the writers realised (about bloody time!) that if they didn't start getting more serious about the two, they will start to loose fans. It all started to increase dramatically at the end of the fourth season. As I stated just before, 'Critic in the carbernet' would have to be my personal favourite! I love it! So, for this blog (that for my first, is actually going to end up surprisingly long) I am going to explain a little about this episode.
(So, right this second, I am about to unwrap some of my precious ferrero rochers, yummmm! and watch the episode! If you are interested, I was able to find the episode on this link: http://watch-series.org/watch-bones-online/season-4/episode-25/the-end-the-beginning Trust me, it is worth watching!!!)
The episode starts out with the whole dead person being discovered in a large barrel of wine, and bla bla bla. Then we see Booth and Bones. They are in a session with Sweets, and it is immediately apparent that both think the whole session is ridiculous, because Sweets wants them to do an experiment that he considers a "valuable sociological tool". We have all played it before, on those friday afternoon english classes. It is the game when you each say a word, and the next says the very first word that they think of. Apparently, even that was educational in some form of way. Which is a horrifying idea.
It was hilarious: heres basically the whole experiment.
booth started. reluctantly of course: Hunger
bones: sex
booth: Woah!
Bones: horse
booth: cowboy
Bones: child
Booth: baby
Bones: booth
Booth: Woah, what do you think that I am a baby?"
Bones: well, your a father."
Booth: oh, mother
Bones: birth
Booth: happy
Bones: sperm
Booth: Sperm. isn't this getting a little weird?
Sweets: No. keep going
Booth: Okay. Egg!
Bones: I want a baby
Booth: WOAH! (him and sweets stare)
Bones: horse
Booth: Wait! woah, woah, wait a minuet.
Sweets: yeah, we can stop here. (with a tone of eagerness. Similar to that of a of when you find out your friend is dating someone and you have absolutely no idea who they are. )
The whole thing is BRILLIANT!!! It was followed shortly after with Booth pointing out that she may need a guy for it too work, to which she shrugged off by saying that it was just sperm and that he was be a good potentual donor. The way those two looked at her. HILARIOUS. Like, they had no idea on what to say to her. She worked out that something was wrong (Like she needed a degree for that one!) and Booth was so out of this waters, telling her that you can't just go around asking for peoples... sperm.
Booth, was kinda distressed about the whole situation. Poor sweets gets told that it is all his fault. Booth does say he will think about helping out, but he seems very unsure about the situation. Bones chooses to tell her team when they are all sorting through the remains of some poor sod who had turned all rubbery. There faces, were above shock. They were mixed between wanting to know if by baby she meant human, or if there was a father. I don't think the situation was grasped particularly well by the team...
Her best friend, Angela seem to see the light in the situation. And while trying to explain how it is normally meant to work, that went along the lines of getting naked, and devouring each other in fits of passion, they both were able to work through that she picked booth because he was hot. That was where I jumped in with a "Hell yeah"
You get to understand Bones choices a little. You realise that emotional ties, that formed when having children the 'normal way' are undependable. You catch a glimpse of how abandoned she felt when she had no one to look after her when she was younger, and you realise that she can't rely of someone like she did back on then, because she honestly feel as though they would leave her.
Now, poor booth is completely confused as to what he wants. And they group ain't making it easier. Cameron goes to give him advice on the whole matter, and ends up trying to convince him using a very confusing argument "I know you Seely! You are going to do it. You want to do it, without really doing it. But it's still doing it! Even if your not doing it the way it should be done." incredible speech. Didn't realise one person could say "do it" so many times. :P
Now the whole problem about the situation is that Booth is that he kinda wants this kid. In a way that you know he wants it to almost be with Bones. Like a reason, a connection between them. She trys to assure him that he won't be involved with the child at all, but that is the problem. Booth wants to be the father. So they both go about the whole case, to which I unfortunately can tell you little about because I have completely tuned it out! (sorry!) all I can say is that too many names of who hated who and I was really lost.
Okay. So the best part of the episode is when stewie comes in. And yes, that name is kinda formula doesn't it? I bet you are picturing a baby of sorts. Probably wearing pink and yellow. Always seen when there is a tv in the room? Cause your right! The youngest child in The family Guy. Booth is in a donation room, getting ready to, well, donate. and Stewie rocks up on the tv screen. Going on about how booth is an attractive guy(no way!) and that he should "Give a direct deposit". (by far, the best line ever!!!). We see booth, well, by now he is going a little crazy. Stewie is there is support his argument against, by pointing out how Booth can't possibly give her the baby and just step as side and not be there for her.
more of the story passed. tuned out a little more. Cam and Ang had an adorable conversation about how cute their kid will end up being. and Sweets makes a point that maybe Bones is ignoring the emotional side of the whole situation .
The real interesting part is the end of the show. They have the killer in the questioning room. He is in the middle of confessing. And Stewie makes another appearance. "Are you going to let her have this baby alone?" Booth is trying to pretend like he can't see a cartoon baby sitting at the table with them, but he can't. Because he knows that he can't abandon his child. Booth can't walk away from his kid. You can see tears forming as he realises that it is his kid, and he has too be the father.
And Bones understands. which is huge, because it is emotional and not logical from her perspective. but she understands.
This episode that was fantastic. Not just from the relationship between, but also, because it is a huge step up for them all. It leads directly into the next season. You see, in the fifth, Booth realised he loves her. And the whole world that they live in starts to change.
But I'll get into that one later.
Wow. I just glanced over at what I have written. Taken me almost 2 hours. But I had so much fun. I will explore the relationship further later on, but for tonight, I think this is enough. I hope you all enjoy it (And I prob will never write this much again...)
